This project is deeply personal to me and my family.
In March of 2007, my dad, Tom Kalchthaler, wrote six words that would stay with him for nearly twenty years:
“See you later on your lips.”
At the time, they were just words that came to him. A lyric. A feeling. A thought that somehow carried more meaning than he could explain. But those words never left him. Over the years, they became something deeper: a reminder of love, goodbye, hope, and the promise we hold onto when someone we love has to leave.
Nearly twenty years later, those six words became the heart of the See You Later Military Project.
For our family, this mission is about honoring the people we love who served our country. It is a tribute to my grandfather, my uncle, my cousins, and every man and woman who has worn the uniform. It is also for the families who stand behind them: the ones who wait, worry, pray, miss them, and carry their memory forward.
What started as my dad’s words has become something we have built together as a family.
My dad and I have worked side by side to bring this project to life. We created the music video, built the campaign, developed the merchandise, and started sharing this story with others who understand what it means to love someone who served. Every step of the way, this has been about honoring our family and using this song to support a greater mission.
The song, the video, the store, and this project are all connected by one purpose: to pay tribute to those who served and to help give back to veterans, service members, and military families.
This is more than a song to us.
It is a way to remember my grandfather.
It is a way to honor my uncle.
It is a way to carry my cousin’s memory forward.
It is a way to say thank you to every person who has served our country.
And it is a way to remind military families that their love, sacrifice, and grief are seen.
Every purchase, stream, share, and donation helps us carry this message further. Our hope is that these six words will reach people who understand the weight of goodbye, the pride of service, and the hope of seeing someone again.
“See you later on your lips” is more than a lyric.
To us, it is a promise.
It is a tribute.
It is a piece of our family’s heart.
And now, it is the mission we are honored to share.
